Bastille Festival Franschhoek

Franschhoek Wine Valley

Franschhoek — founded by French Huguenots three centuries ago — spends a July weekend celebrating its origins with food, wine, and a parade through the village.

The Bastille Festival fills the Winelands' prettiest village with street markets, cellar tastings, barrel-rolling races, and the Quatorze Juillet parade. It is an easy hour from Camps Bay, and one of the most charming ways to spend a winter day in the Cape: long lunches, good wine, and the Drakenstein mountains as a backdrop.

We can arrange a driver for the day so the tastings can be enjoyed properly, and book a table at one of the valley's standout kitchens to anchor the afternoon.
