Our Journey
Our story is one of love for South Africa. Fabio, an Italian with a global spirit, visited South Africa nearly 40 years ago and developed a deep connection with this vibrant country. Almost three decades later, his son Alessio, accompanied by his godfather and Fabio's childhood friend Marcel, embarked on their first trip to South Africa to visit a house under construction. Both fell in love with the land. However, it wasn't until 2020, amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, that they traveled to South Africa together and decided to build their own jewel – Riva One. Riva stands for: Relax in Vivid Africa.
Our motto, Feel Good, embodies the heart of Riva One. We've always aimed to create an atmosphere that blends our Italian heritage with the vibrant ambiance of South Africa. The names of our rooms - Sole (sun), Luna (moon), and Mare (sea) - each represent a part of what makes this place so unique.

ARCHITECTURE
Iconic architecture expertly developed
At Riva One, we believe in the art of blending design with nature. Our guesthouse's architecture reflects a passion for clean lines and minimalist beauty. The exterior is a study in balance and harmony, with a facade dominated by floor-to-ceiling glass walls that offer uninterrupted views of Camps Bay. Locally-sourced stone and timber bring warmth to the design, creating a seamless connection with the environment. The central, multi-level terrace and glass-edged pool provide guests with a front-row seat to nature's beauty.

The Renato Connection
During this journey, Fabio and Alessio crossed paths with Renato for the first time. They instantly connected, and their creative minds collaborated to bring Riva One to life. Their architectural concepts and ideas merged into what you see today, showcasing harmony between modern design and the surrounding natural beauty.
Sustainability
Sustainability was a crucial aspect of our guesthouse's construction. We were committed to minimizing our environmental impact without compromising on quality. We installed solar panels for renewable energy, embraced rainwater harvesting, and utilized a borehole and filtration systems for water conservation. Our intelligent building design incorporates passive solar heating and cooling, reducing energy consumption.
